Bro came home with a Betta by Katanamasako Bro came home with a Betta by Katanamasako
and the ammonia spike died down so I decided to go ahead and acclimate the sucker, hopefully he survives the rest of the tank cycle. he's a crown tail betta. Also, some of the plants have already grown by half an inch to an inch.

he's a pretty blue isn't he? he was a green blue, but i think the colors were a stress response since my brother got him from walmart. poor thing was in dirty water and fecal matter all over the bottom of the little cup. I put him in a bucket and gave him a slow drip from the tank to help him acclimate.

It was hard trying not to just dump him into the tank, but bettas are sensitive fish //despite the splendens variety being completely manmade// and are easy to kill off. their life span is actually around eight years.

only eight years? eight years for critter that maxes at four inches and can breed at six months old is rather impressive, most rodents only live for five years, and large breeds of dogs are lucky to hit seven years.

X3 so they're pretty long lived :3 sucker doesn't seem used to the pellets i'm giving him though, he'll eat them, but he won't eat a lot of them... I'll be buying some frozen blood worms and see if he'll take some of those.
